1. This is one of the best movies Ive seen in a very long time

Probably the only film I've ever seen where every scene is so memorable. Just brilliant. I totally thought that sam rockwell's character and alfie allen's character were in i the only one. 2:03 Me pretending to be sick so I don't have to go to school.

Last time I was this early, this meme still had several viable punchlines.

THAT moment. I honestly didn't feel the gut punch, mainly because I spent the rest of the movie processing it. It felt that unreal. Like oh. This COMEDY went there unreal. I think, over and above Jojo's father being absent, we could see Jojo's imaginary buddy Adolf as the logical result of what we think of now as the cult of personality? A kid in Jojo's position might have seen and heard the world around him making Hitler out to be the strongman with the answers to their long suffering, so why would an impressionable kid be immune to idolizing the guy? It's a nightmare, but not so far-fetched, I think. The presence of US soldiers means that the Allies achieved victory and war is over. The kid who plays the best friend stole my heart every scene hes in he stole. Two other thing: Jojo setting free the rabbit at the beginning could work as a metaphor of the ending, and Hitler not showing up as usual near the ending of the movie is another metaphor: that Jojo is getting rid of his ideological nazi beliefs.

The way Jojo and Elsa just break into smiles at the end. I swear I could watch the entire film over and over for that moment.
